  • Future Technology Quality may reflect past glories.
The Dark Side of the Moon, The Universe and everything.

Last time we saw hardware turning somewhat towards mobile phones, with PCs still firmly entrenched. Today we will look at the future of non hardware based things to come.
Increasingly, things are bought ready programmed and we have little influence over what we have bought or use, just initial choice of supplier and package.
So we are being gently pushed down pre-defined paths, with conforming to compatibility being paramount, especially as the current market is essentially split between Google and Microsoft.
    Here Google ...

Unlike men the hair loss in this case is usually temporary and healthy re-growth can occur over time.

Unlike men, women rarely go bald but may experience signif ...

Colgate Is Looking At Gene Therapy To Combat Oral Cancers

Brush your teeth and rinse with gene therapy. That could be the future of oral health care as envisioned by Colgate-Palmolive and Introgen Therapeutics, a biotechnology company. The companies announced an alliance on Friday to incorporate gene therapy an exotic, experimental and so far largely unsuccessful form of medicine into mouthwashes, gels and similar products to treat and prevent oral cancers. Colgate is buying about 3.6 million shares of Introgen, or a 9.7 percent stake. Colgate will pay $20 million, or $5.54 a share, the same as Introgen's closing price on Thursday. On Friday, Introgen shares climbed 8 percent, to $5.96 Gene therapy involves putting genes into cells in the body, often to replace g...

  • Thomas Jefferson and the Chinese Gong

While Richard Nixon’s diplomatic visit to China may have created a minor thaw in Sino-US relations, he was not the first President to try to get in sync with the Chinese. Thomas Jefferson preceded him by close to two centuries.

Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States, happened to be (in contrast to the current US President) an intelligent man, amazing inventor and, as DNA tests have shown, most likely a randy advocate of miscegenation. We now may envision that when the Continental Congress celebrated Thanksgiving together, which type of meat – light or dark - Jeffer ...

  • Imagine Having $42,000,000 You Can’t Spend!
Which lesson would you draw from this?

“Crime doesn’t pay?” or “Murphy strikes again?”

Here’s a story that could be fiction if it wasn’t true.

On Sunday, December 19, 2004, a gang of Belfast, Northern

  • Understand the Science of Obesity And You're On Your Way To Conquer It

Many people think obesity means that a person is overweight, but that's not exactly true. An overweight person has a surplus amount of weight that includes muscle, bone, fat and water. An obese person has a surplus of body fat. Body Mass Index (BMI) is commonly used to determine if a person is obese or not. A person with a BMI over 30 is considered to be obese, and a BMI over 40 is considered to be severely obese.

Factors such as poor diet, lack of physical activity, genetics and certain medical disorders cause obesity, but it can be conquered.
