  • Health Profiling: Recognizing the Physical Causes of Insomnia

Insomnia is often thought to be related to stress or anxiety, but those are only two of the reasons that this condition might surface. There are numerous physical circumstances that might serve as the catalyst for sleeplessness – some more closely associated to women than men. The bottom line is that, whenever a person deviates from their normal sleep pattern as the result of a lack of sleep, something within their life – or their health profile – has gone awry and needs to be addressed.

Women tend to be the victims of insomnia more often than their male counterparts. This is partiall ...

    Iraqi Christians in the Gap!

As we think about this war from an eternal perspective, the all-important
question is "what will the war in Iraq mean for the Gospel of Christ Jesus?"
We believe that this war in Iraq will give an open door for the Gospel. The
Gospel is what will heal and free the spirit of man to worship the true and
living God, Christ Jesus! The Gospel is the "bread of life"—the only answer to
the hunger and hopelessness of mankind. We want to bring the "bread of life" to
the Iraqi people who have suffered for so many years.

    God has been prepari ...

Sickle cell disease corrected in human models using stem cell-based gene therapy

This research, published in Nature Biotechnology, is the first to demonstrate a way to genetically correct sickle cell disease using RNA interference. The technique should be broadly applicable to use therapeutically in stem cells or malignant cells.

Conservation of gene expression signatures between zebrafish and human liver tumors and tumor progression.

Publication Date: 2006 Jan PMID: 16327811Authors: Lam, S. H. - Wu, Y. L. - Vega, V. B. - Miller, L. D. - Spitsbergen, J. - Tong, Y. - Zhan, H. - Govindarajan, K. R. - Lee, S. - Mathavan, S. - Krishna Murthy, K. R. - Buhler, D. R. - Liu, E. T. - Gong, Z.Journal: Nat BiotechnolThe zebrafish (Danio rerio) has been long advocated as a model for cancer research, but little is known about the real molecular similarities between zebrafish and human tumors. Comparative analysis of microarray data from zebrafish liver tumors with those from four human tumor types revealed molecular conservation at various levels between fish and human tumors. This approach provides a useful strategy for identifying an expression signature that is strongly associated with a disease phenotype.

  • Future Technology Quality may reflect past glories.
The Dark Side of the Moon, The Universe and everything.

Last time we saw hardware turning somewhat towards mobile phones, with PCs still firmly entrenched. Today we will look at the future of non hardware based things to come.
Increasingly, things are bought ready programmed and we have little influence over what we have bought or use, just initial choice of supplier and package.
So we are being gently pushed down pre-defined paths, with conforming to compatibility being paramount, especially as the current market is essentially split between Google and Microsoft.
    Here Google ...

REGULAR ROOIBOS TEA VERSUS GREEN ROOIBOS TEA

    - ROOIBOS TEA has taken the world by storm. Both fermented and unfermented Rooibos tea are primarily sold as a health drink however, it is also used as a raw material in the cosmetic industry. Green Rooibos Tea is the unfermented version of Rooibos Tea and it has a lighter, fruitier taste than regular Rooibos tea. Rooibos tea lacks the astringent taste of normal tea and green tea.

    - The unfermented Rooibos emerged in response to recent interest in the health benefits linked to the antioxidants found in tea. Green Rooibos extract in pa ...

  • Bodyguard Training in Mexico; My Experiences While Providing BG Training in Mexico

Mexico the country of Salsa, Tortillas and Corruption; I first arrived in Mexico City in February 2002 as an instructor for the WFB – the World Federation of Bodyguards. A Mexican security service had contracted Anders Sorenson, the Norwegian WFB instructor and I, to set-up a training program for BG’s in Mexico.

I came through customs and the weapons search, shaking my head at the Mexican officials who only spoke Spanish, making my visa interview a complete waste of time.

That was one of my first lessons about Mexico; almost all Mexicans dream of going to the US to live however, ...
