  • Does your Water Supply contain Drugs or Toxins
Scientists have discovered Pharmaceutical Drugs and Toxins in the Water Supply, Are you drinking this potentially dangerous cocktail.

Water treatment plants are set up to eliminate certain types of waste materials, such as pesticides, herbicides and heavy metals from the water supply. They cannot however cope, neither are they equipped to deal with pharmaceuticals, as you will probably know, up to 90% of drugs that are taken in to our bodies, is eliminated by the kidneys and urine, so whatever passes through our bodies, eventually end up back at the water treatment plant and then in to ...

  • What is a herniated disc and what can you do about it?
So what in the world is a Herniated Disc??? Well, rather than confuse you more, I am going to give you my simple, easy to understand definition…

a herniated disc is simply a protrusion, or sticking out of the disc. Think of a disc as a balloon being held in place between your hands… if you push your hands together unevenly the balloon will bulge out on the opposite side. This is what happens to the disc between the vertebrae.

A Bulging Disc is the same thing as a herniated disc… just a different name.

Herniated discs are probably one of the most common diagnosis’s for back ...

    Genetics News:

Routine Genetic Testing For Cancer Risk Not Recommended

The US Preventive Services Task Force recommends against routine referral of all women for genetic counseling and DNA testing to detect the presence of specific BRCAl and BRCA2 gene mutations that may be associated with breast or ovarian cancers, according to a Sept 5, 2005, news release from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. If a woman has certain specific family history patterns that put her at risk for these gene mutations, however, her primary care physician should suggest counseling and possible DNA testing. The BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes help control normal cell growth. Women who inherit specific changes or mutations in one or both of these genes have a greater risk of developing breast or ovarian cancer, especially if...

    Genetic Testing Still Smart Choice

Screening embryos for genetic diseases during in vitro fertilization offers couples the best chance for a healthy child, but a genetic glitch could potentially cause doctors to misdiagnose a small fraction of them, University of Florida scientists say. Citing concerns about the accuracy of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, the method a number of practitioners use to pick the healthiest embryos during IVF, UF scientists set out to study the procedure. Their work, described during a recent meeting of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, reveals the technique is actually highly reliable. But because there is a slim chance a genetic abnormality can cause doctors to misdiagnose embryos, some concerns still need to be addressed, the scientists said.......

    Method of genetic testing

This invention provides a method of genetic testing that enables testing of a plurality of variation sites (SNPs) in a cost-effective and simple manner, allowing realization of genetic diagnosis in clinical settings. The SNP type of the nucleic acid sample is evaluated by: allowing a nucleic acid sample having an...

  • Natural Acne Treatments
At some point in your life you will probably suffer from acne. Almost everyone does. There has been a great deal of news about acne treatments recently with many claiming a combination of an acne prevention diet and some of the all natural acne treatments to be the answer. So you might want to try that route.

Acne is a disorder of the sebaceous gland. This is the gland in the skin that secretes an oily substance to the face, neck, and back mostly. If the sebaceous gland becomes clogged with this oily substance you get a zit or a pimple. And sometimes you get a lot of them.

    There are many ...

  • DNA Profiling: Its Uses in Court

Stronger evidence in courtrooms—it’s what every attorney, defendant, and plaintiff dreams of. Beginning in the last 1980s, this is exactly what began to surface through DNA profiling.

In addition to the one-of-a-kind pattern engraved on our fingers, each of us possesses a unique identifier that is built within our bodies. DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) is the genetic blueprint that determines our biological characteristics. DNA is a long molecule located in almost every cell in the human body. When we are conceived, we inherit half of our DNA from our mother and half from our fat ...
