Right at the end of what was intended to be the word “though”. Copyright 2005 David McEvoy

Most people, and especially good hairdressers and dieticians, know that poor nutrition can make your hair dull and lifeless, as well as affecting its growth. Thus it follows that a good diet can improve the quality of your hair.

Hair is composed of keratin, a type of protein. A single hair begins with a root below the skin and a follicle from which the root grows – the part of the hair that shows is known as the shaft. Melanin, the pigment which gives hair its colour, is produced in the hair bulb at the follicle’s lower end.

    Around 50-100 head h ...

Along with the increase of obesity in adult, childhood obesity is on the rise. Around 15.5 percent of adolescents in the United States, aged 12 to 19 are obese. Even more alarming, about 15.3 percent of children ages 6 to 11 are obese. These children are developing Type II Diabetes and high blood pressure at an early age. In Heartland, Stem Cell Research Meets Fierce Opposition
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The moral debate over embryonic stem cells stretches far beyond Capitol Hill to state capitals and research parks across the country, where a fierce competition is underway from Maryland to California for cutting-edge research and the profits that could follow.

In Our View: Stem-cell research opportunity may be quashed
Stem cells offer the promise of cures for some of the worst ailments afflicting humanity. But American scientists will not be on the cutting edge if the U.S. Senate and President Bush have their way.The House of Representatives approved legislation authorizing federal funding for stem cell research using cells from human embryos.

  • Human Evolution Timeline: Revelations in Bible Quotes
The human evolution timeline is found recorded in Bible quotes (Book of Genesis). Adam's rib symbolizes the chromosome and is the key to the man ape evolution. In discussing evolution vs creation, many convergences like this one are found.

Someone who holds to the theory of evolution and denies creationism might ask why such an important matter as the creation of human beings would be in a symbolic message rather than in explicit language. And, after all, the Holy Scriptures don`t talk about chromosomes. That is a valid question, which shall be pursued below. First off, the main interes ...

  • How to Grow Bamboo
Bamboo is a mysterious and elusive plant that baffles taxonomists who try to contain it within a botanical class and gardeners who try to contain it within a limited garden space as they learn how to grow bamboo. For many years, bamboo was thought to be a primitive grass but recent DNA testing has shown it to be one of the most highly evolved forest grasses. There are over 1200 forms of bamboo that grow in a broad spectrum of color including the familiar green and gold as well as burgundy, blue and even black grasses. Some varieties of bamboo can grow up to a foot a day and ultimately reach 13 ...
