One of the missions of ChartWatchCentral is to inform our readers of opportunity before it mainstreams. There is tremendous opportunity in the futuristic field of Nanotechnology.

  • The Causes Of Acne And How To Avoid Them

If you aren't a sufferer of the effects of acne, feel lucky. Acne is one of the most common skin diseases in the United States, affecting some 17 million people.

By definition, it occurs when the pores of the skin are plugged, where the natural oil, called sebum, can't reach the pore's surface.

Doctors believe that it could be the overproduction of sebum that contributes to the clogging of pores, which results in the formation of pimples and zits. All of this occurs especially around the time of puberty, adolescence and even into adulthood.

Problems with severe acne can go ...

  • Longevity - Can Fat Cells Dictate How Long a Human Survives?
According to the September Issue of Popular Mechanics, a report written by Jim Wilson explains how human beings may some day have the capability to survive to be 180 (one hundred eighty) years old!

Based on research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology(http://web.mit.edu/biology/www/facultyareas/facresearch/guarente.shtml) and Professor Leonard P. Guarante; genetic makeup that rules our individual "time-clocks" can be virtually erased.

    * How is this possible?

    Genetics News:

Stem cell discovery could lead to breast cancer treatment
    Health-News.co.uk Jan 6 2006 11:27AM GMT

New cancer & stem cell research institute to open in Hamilton
It will be the first of it's kind in North America. McMaster University has recruited a McMaster alumni, who is also a top scientist in stem cell research, to open a new cancer institute.

    Scientists create embryonic stem cell
On Monday researchers said they have created a new human embryonic stem cell by fusing an embryonic stem cell to an ordinary skin cell. This means that researchers would be able to receive government funding because the stem cells are not derived from a fertilized egg (embryo). Scientists have promised the possibility of curing many diseases, including diabetes, cancer and Parkinson's. Embryonic stem cells are said to show more promise than adult stem cell because they are easier to make them subdivide (which means you could grow batches of the cells). For more information on stem cells, check out the official National Institutes of Health resource for stem cell research page.

  • Male Mid-Life Crisis

Men notice that their former youthful exuberance and ravenous virility are slowly diminishing when they reach the age of 40 and onwards. This is when males experience hair loss, bone loss, insomnia or other sleeping problems, and problems with memory and calculation.

They often feel cranky, fatigued, and less motivated. Or sometimes these are accompanied by sweating and flushing, loss of muscle mass and strength, aches and pains, increased fat, decreased sexual performance or erectile dysfunction, and depression.

Most men who reach midlife will basically experience one or all of ...

  • An Interview - on history and educational media
    AN INTERVIEW:
    1. Can you briefly summarize why you think history is a weapon of war against people?

Briefly?, not really, except to say Sun Tzu wasn’t the first to notice that propaganda was the first and most important part of conquest. Caesars won more through secret deals and blackmailing the likes of Herod and the Sanhedrin than they ever did through force of arms. We saw how guerillas work against a conqueror in Vietnam and even in Iraq at the present. I have written about fifty books. The framework for a new history that is based on forensics and science or artifacts rather tha ...

  • Can Motherhood Make You Smarter?
    Copyright 2005 Mary Desaulniers

It was not too long ago that the I.Q. test was a routinely administered exercise in elementary and secondary schools. At that time (late seventies and early eighties), schools placed great faith in these magic numbers. Flag those above 125 and those below 90, teachers were told. And we did, dutifully assigning enrichment or remedial programs accordingly.

Those were the years when we worked within a narrow understanding of the brain’s potential. Content dictated everything from test scores to curriculum because the model of the brain we worked from ...
