Hair Loss Factors
What are the factors that contribute to hair loss? I know I have friends and relative that have suffered hair loss, but they are so different. As I checked into it farther, I found that there are a lot of factors that can contribute to hair loss. Some are natural and others are not caused by natural factors. It seems that there are as many hair loss factors as there are individuals. However, there are some main factors that contribute to a majority of cases.

Bush: Will Veto Embryonic Stem Cell Research-Pandering to his Fundamentalist Bas
via John Kerry for President 2008: Christopher Reeve testified: "But why has the use of discarded embryos for research suddenly become such an issue? New view of cancer: 'Epigenetic' changes come before mutations
A Johns Hopkins researcher and colleagues in Sweden and at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center suggest that the traditional view of cancer as a group of diseases whose properties arise from a series of alterations within a cell's nuclear DNA may have to give way to a more complicated view. In the January issue of Nature Reviews Genetics, available online now, the scientists suggest that cancers instead begin with "epigenetic" alterations to stem cells.

The Essential Conflict in Humans is Between our Species Nature and Our Consciousness
The two parts of our beings: One part of our beings is our DNA-based species’ nature, which includes the elements of our brain activity and awareness that evolved to contribute to our survival in the world and especially, the survival of our unique individual DNA, generation to generation. The other part is an “accidental” outcome of DNA’s survival activities in the world – Consciousness. The nature of consciousness: Consciousness came about as an “emergent” property from the individual organism’s need to be able to make survival “decisions” moment-to-moment, rather ...

Diabetes--What You Need to Know About This Hidden Danger
Diabetes is a disease in which blood glucose levels are above normal. Most of the food we eat is turned into glucose (sugar) for our bodies to burn to create energy. The pancreas, an organ that lies near the stomach, produces a hormone called insulin to help glucose get into the cells of our bodies. When you have diabetes, your body either doesn't make enough insulin or can't use its own insulin as well as it should. This causes large amounts of sugar to build up in your blood.
The actual cause of diabetes continues to be a mystery, although both genetics and environmental facto ...
