  • Environmentalists Say GM Seeds are Bad News

Environmentalists say GM Seeds are bad for the environment, dangerous to the security of the world’s food supply and will cause millions to starve. Yet when one really looks at the debate none of those statements can be made in absolute truth. Why is it bad for the environment? GM crops were said to be bad by some environmentalists, but Monsanto has figured out a way to terminate the seeds, this terminates them from spreading to other strains of DNA, RNA of natural or wild crops. Thus helps the environment. It is a relatively brilliant “Green Technology” We get to have our cake and grow it ...

    The Great Awakening--Menopause
By: Dr. Loretta Lanphier, ND, CN, HHP

Menopause is a natural transition all women experience, as natural as adolescence. For your grandmother and great-grandmother, life expectancy was shorter. Reaching menopause often meant that their life was nearing an end. But this is no longer true. Today women are living longer—on average, until age 78. How you experience menopause is determined by many factors: attitude, diet, overall health, genetics, and your cultural group. Medical science views menopause as the state of your body after you had completed one f ...

    Iraqi Christians in the Gap!

As we think about this war from an eternal perspective, the all-important
question is "what will the war in Iraq mean for the Gospel of Christ Jesus?"
We believe that this war in Iraq will give an open door for the Gospel. The
Gospel is what will heal and free the spirit of man to worship the true and
living God, Christ Jesus! The Gospel is the "bread of life"—the only answer to
the hunger and hopelessness of mankind. We want to bring the "bread of life" to
the Iraqi people who have suffered for so many years.

Novel methods for quantification of micrornas and small interfering rnas

The invention relates to ribonucleic acids, probes and methods for detection, quantification as well as monitoring the expression of mature microRNAs and small interfering RNAs (siRNAs). The invention furthermore relates to methods for monitoring the expression of other non-coding RNAs, mRNA splice variants, as well as detecting and quantifying RNA...

Small RNA molecules targeted against the hepatitis B virus

Researchers have found a way of delivering small RNA molecules targeted against the hepatitis B virus at doses that are low enough to allow this new therapeutic approach to be used in people. In the August issue of Nature Biotechnology, David Morrissey and his colleagues incorporate so-called small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) into lipid (fat-like) particles that protect them against digestive enzymes in the blood, thereby increasing their stability when injected into mice and reducing the dose needed for therapeutic effect... click link for more info.

  • Understand the Science of Obesity And You're On Your Way To Conquer It

Many people think obesity means that a person is overweight, but that's not exactly true. An overweight person has a surplus amount of weight that includes muscle, bone, fat and water. An obese person has a surplus of body fat. Body Mass Index (BMI) is commonly used to determine if a person is obese or not. A person with a BMI over 30 is considered to be obese, and a BMI over 40 is considered to be severely obese.

Factors such as poor diet, lack of physical activity, genetics and certain medical disorders cause obesity, but it can be conquered.

  • Solution to Obesity

First of all we need to find out a reason for this growing mountain of fat that is killing us.

We know now that the traditional explanation - that of overeating - is wrong. People eat when they’re hungry, and they stop when they’re full. The problem lies in hormonal imbalance inside our bodies, an imbalance that deprives us of the energy to live life to the full, and instead stores the energy as fat.

What influences human hormonal balance? The three biggest factors are: genetics, diet, and stress.

There are no prizes for guessing which one of those three is the easiest to ...
