  • Youth In A Changing World

    Introduction

Children are the gifts of God to parents. That young child will in no time at all grow up to become a resposible future leader if he is well catered for. Therefore whatever they learn or grow up with is what they will act upon in their future.

Juvenile Deliquency is nothing but indiscipline among youth. An untrained child of today will destroy the future of himself and that of others. Remember Crowley in New york, the USA, Aninih and Shina Rambo, notorious armed robbers in Nigeria, they are today the world enemies. What shall we say of you and your children in futur ...

  • Four Main Factors Causing High Cholesterol
Besides diet, other causes of high cholesterol are lifestyle, gender and the heritage of the individual.

For some, even maintaining cholesterol at the right levels and being fit and thin will still not prevent the development of high levels of bad cholesterol. Due to heart risk factors besides diet, some people require a very aggressive approach which includes cholesterol lowing medication. We will address this issue as we progress in “30 days to lowering cholesterol.”

Lifestyle issues and high cholesterol: •When we opt for convenience in eating over nutrition, we are setting ourselves u ...

  • Vitamins that May Affect Hair Growth

Several different vitamin or mineral deficiencies can cause dry hair. To treat dry hair, try taking a multivitamin with 100 percent of the daily value of the essential vitamins. A multivitamin and mineral combination may provide some added coverage for possible deficiencies.

It's been shown that too little biotin and pantothenic acid (both B-complex vitamins) can lead to dry hair. Shampoos and hair treatment products commonly contain pantothenic acid (or pantothenol).

But evidence supporting the benefits of pantothenic acid for dry hair and hair loss is very weak. Also, some peo ...

Antiretroviral Therapy May Prevent HIV Transmission From Breastfeeding Mothers To Infants

From ScienceDaily: Two new studies support the hypothesis that combination antiretroviral drug therapy may reduce the risk of mother-to-child HIV transmission through breastfeeding, findings that could have significant implications in the developing world.    Researchers in the first study found mothers pass antiretroviral medications on to their breastfeeding infants in concentrations high enough to prevent infection. The second study showed levels of HIV RNA in breast milk are lower in mothers taking antiretroviral therapy than those who are not. Both studies appear in the September 1 issue of The Journal of Infectious Diseases, now available online.

The Turnover Pulse Hypothesis was constructed by paleoanthropologist Elizabeth Vrba to explain the appearance of an extensive evolutionary shift world wide, that led to early hominin forms in Africa....

    Environmentalists & Peak Oil

Many environmentalists have embraced the "peak oil" hypothesis that world oil production has already peaked and will inexorably decline. Many Greens seem to believe that convincing the world that we are running out of oil will spur the adoption of...

  • Weight Gain Principles

It's an unfortunate reality that throughout the years there has been a growth of strength training techniques without any scientific proof to back them up. As in life, and in training the simplest is always the best. Have a look at the facts presented in this outline of weight gain principles and make up your own mind.

Here are a few Scientific Guidelines for strength training that have always been around but are not followed by many training systems these days.

    1. Limited Energy Level

A strength-training program should be short and simple as you only have a limited amount ...

  • Garlic - Join Me And I´ll Show You Why Garlic Can Save Your Life

Are you worried yet about your health? Are you anxious about your heart, or about the possibility of contracting cancer? If so, you are not alone, and your concerns are quite valid. Cancer and heart disease are today’s major killers, and as of now, we are yet to find a safe and effective drug, that can prevent these diseases. Some will argue that taking one or two aspirins a day can reduce the risk of heart disease, and it saddens me to see how many people are doing this, because I know the problems brought by aspirin over use, if these people knew about the long term damage caused by this ...
