  • Faster Hair Growth - its as easy as omega 3
    Copyright 2005 David McEvoy

Most people, and especially good hairdressers and dieticians, know that poor nutrition can make your hair dull and lifeless, as well as affecting its growth. Thus it follows that a good diet can improve the quality of your hair.

Hair is composed of keratin, a type of protein. A single hair begins with a root below the skin and a follicle from which the root grows – the part of the hair that shows is known as the shaft. Melanin, the pigment which gives hair its colour, is produced in the hair bulb at the follicle’s lower end.

    Around 50-100 head h ...

  • Solution to Obesity

First of all we need to find out a reason for this growing mountain of fat that is killing us.

We know now that the traditional explanation - that of overeating - is wrong. People eat when they’re hungry, and they stop when they’re full. The problem lies in hormonal imbalance inside our bodies, an imbalance that deprives us of the energy to live life to the full, and instead stores the energy as fat.

What influences human hormonal balance? The three biggest factors are: genetics, diet, and stress.

There are no prizes for guessing which one of those three is the easiest to ...

Now it is possible to read my blog entries in 4 different languages: English, French, Spanish, and German. Just click the appropriate link directly below this entry. I realize the translation leave something to be desired, but they're pretty good. Each time I add or edit a blog entry, my program gets the three translations from Google's translation service. Normally when you use Google's translation service to translate a paragraph, it appears as text on a Google page. When you translate a URL, it appears in a frame. Using some cool PHP features, I am able to seemlessly interface with the translation service and avoid ads and extra data. Using CSS and HTML tags, I am able to provide the translations without a page reload. Any suggestions on how to improve the translation service are welcome. Honestly, I don't expect anyone to use it. It was fun to program though.

  • Obesity in America -- The Growing Epidemic!

Obesity is a disease that affects approximately 60 million people in the United States, where women are especially affected. Over one-third of women between the ages of 20 and 74 are obese, the majority of them being African American or Mexican American. With more and more pre-packaged food and less and less activity, the number of obese people in America has steadily increased since the 1960’s.

But what is obesity? Many people think obesity means that a person is overweight, but that’s not exactly true. An overweight person has a surplus amount of weight that includes muscle, bone, f ...

  • Do Low Carbohydrate Diets Lead to Weight Loss Success?
So your neighbor, office mate, best friend, whoever just lost 10 pounds in only two weeks following the latest in high protein low carbohydrate diets. And now you’re thinking you should give it a go -- have even started the search for high protein low carbohydrate recipes?

True, high protein low carb diets seem to be leading many people to weight loss success. Trouble is, they seemed to do it 30 years ago, too. They were the rage in the early 70s, and look where many of us are today: growing fatter with each decade.

The bottom line: Diets -- low carb diets or not -- simply don’ ...

  • Hot Women And Eye Contact

For a while now I've been wondering why some women always make eye contact and hold it longer than others, and in most cases, the women who fail to maintain eye contact are the best looking. Each woman is unique, so their reasons for not maintaining eye contact could be any of a variety of things. However, after a lot of thought and research I've found out why these "dimes" or perfect 10's tend to make eye contact much less than other women. Read on and be enlightened.

Like I said before... they do this for a variety of reasons, but a few shine through the rest. The majority of these ...
