  • Sun Safety
The sun is an important part of our lives. Exposure to the sun allows our bodies to produce Vitamin D which is needed to help absorb calcium for strong healthy bones. Generally, we get 50-80% of our sun exposure by the time we reach age 18, therefore, it is important that parents teach children how to stay in the sun safely.

Try to avoid prolonged periods in the sun when its at its highest in the sky. This is the time the sun can do the most damage to your skin. In the United States, that is generally between 10am and 4pm. If you are out during this period, make sure you are protected w ...

Here is a brief Intro for my book Cherokee People Will REturn. Yes, the E is intentionally capitalized.

It does no good to lie about the past even if it seems to make more money due to corrupt practices carried out by the invaders of Paradise. Genetics will be a difficult thing for various historians who ardently support their tenured ‘me-too think’ to overcome. I get support almost every week for my history from just this one discipline of science. Even the genetic or DNA evaluation of lice has contributed to this history in recent months. The claim that Australia or S. E. Asia is the ...

  • Rooibos

REGULAR ROOIBOS TEA VERSUS GREEN ROOIBOS TEA

    - ROOIBOS TEA has taken the world by storm. Both fermented and unfermented Rooibos tea are primarily sold as a health drink however, it is also used as a raw material in the cosmetic industry. Green Rooibos Tea is the unfermented version of Rooibos Tea and it has a lighter, fruitier taste than regular Rooibos tea. Rooibos tea lacks the astringent taste of normal tea and green tea.

    - The unfermented Rooibos emerged in response to recent interest in the health benefits linked to the antioxidants found in tea. Green Rooibos extract in pa ...

Plant genetics: hothead healer and extragenomic information.
Publication Date: 2005 Sep 1 PMID: 16136081Authors: Ray, A.Journal: NatureAccording to classical mendelian genetics, individuals homozygous for an allele always breed true. Lolle et al. report a pattern of non-mendelian inheritance in the hothead (hth) mutant of Arabidopsis thaliana, in which a plant homozygous at a particular locus upon self-crossing produces progeny that are 10% heterozygous; they claim that this is the result of the emerging allele having been reintroduced into the chromosome from a cache of RNA inherited from a previous generation. Here I suggest that these results are equally compatible with a gene conversion that occurred through the use as a template of DNA fragments that were inherited from a previous generation and propagated in archival form in the meristem cells that generate the plant germ lines. This alternative model is compatible with several important observations by Lolle et al..

  • Imagine Having $42,000,000 You Can’t Spend!
Which lesson would you draw from this?

“Crime doesn’t pay?” or “Murphy strikes again?”

Here’s a story that could be fiction if it wasn’t true.

On Sunday, December 19, 2004, a gang of Belfast, Northern
Ireland, robbers initiated a daring 24-hour plan to rob the
    Northern Bank.

While holding family members of two executives hostage, they
made off with the staggering sum of $42,000,000. According to
the Guinness Book of World Records, this heist rates fourth on
the all-time list and first for a peacetime haul of currency
    alone.

  • The Family Bed: A Story in Generations

If I had been born at home, surely it would have been into a family bed. As it was, my parents brought me home from the hospital, where I was promptly given a place aside my mother in the bed which slept us all: mom, dad, my brother and I. I nursed until I was nearly four, when the arrival of a younger sibling forced shared privileges. I was not, as a rule, thrilled with anything that wasn’t mine alone and so gave up the breast and my place between my parents for slightly more independence on the outskirts of our small country. I slept on the edge (had my parents been a bit more intuitive, ...
