  • Personalized Weight Loss Plans -- Breaking the Yo-Yo Cycle of Failed Diets

Dieting will continue to fail most dieters, unless personalized weight loss plans become more available. A diet designed for a mass market will fail because the diet assumes everything is constant or the same between dieters. Not so.

Personalized weight loss plans have a better chance of succeeding because the personal habits, ideas, and goals of each dieter are used in the design of the diet.

It comes down to, "What is good for you may not be good for me."

    Human Epigenome Project
The genome refers to an organism"s complete genetic information, generally taken to mean the total DNA/RNA sequence. The term epigenome has been used to refer to the additional heritable biological factors other than DNA sequence that can influence gene expression. Epigenetic modifications such as methylation or acetylation of DNA can significantly affect gene activity and may be involved in inter-individual variation in both health and disease; faults in normal epigenetic mechanisms have been identified in different forms of cancer.

The Genographic Project aims to collect 100,000 genetic samples which will be used trace the movements of humans out of Africa and around the globe. While the most useful samples will come from indiginous populations, members of the general public will be able to mail in their own DNA on special cheek swabs."

  • Science and Religion (Part 1)
Could life have evolved by accident? Are we alone in the universe? These are the questions which have pounded the consciousness of individuals. Plus this no less persistent question: what is the purpose of life? Dinosaurs have come and gone. Modern man—Homo sapiens—has landed on the moon. Satellites map our solar system. New planets are being discovered on a regular basis. New theories proposed. Old ones discredited. Genetics, a new field of study—though not so new—ready to re-invent this singular species: mankind. Men of science and of faith are no further apart as a test tube from a pulpit. ...

  • When To Order and Send Your Wedding Invitations

Wedding Invitations should be ordered when you have all the details of your wedding set… place, time of ceremony and reception as well as your guest list. Plan to place your invitation order at least 3-4 months in advance, some companies may require 4-6 months. Especially, if you are ordering custom made invitations or handmade invitations and coordinating ensembles. Depending on the intricacy of your design and because they are not mass produced, but rather assembled one by one it can take anywhere from 4 to 10 weeks for your order to arrive.
