  • Tips on a People Search and Doctor Search

Search engines competition is at the highest level and constantly embedding new technologies into searches. The result? Better information for the consumer, and it’s only the beginning! Search engine technology is so precise (especially Google™) that conducting a doctor search or a people search can deliver googles of information.

Depending on the type and quality of information you’re looking after, several different approaches can be used to perform your search.

  • The Technology of Law
One can discern the following relationships between the Law and Technology:

    1. Sometimes technology becomes an inseparable part of the law. In extreme cases, technology itself becomes the law. The use of polygraphs, faxes, telephones, video, audio and computers is an integral part of many laws - etched into them. It is not an artificial co-habitation: the technology is precisely defined in the law and forms a CONDITION within it. In other words: the very spirit and letter of the law is violated (the law is broken) if a certain technology is not employed or not put to correct use. Think ...

  • Robotic Future of Hospitals; Pandemic Prevention and Bio-Terrorist Attack

There is a huge concern in the medical industry that if a biological weapon were released that those sick might come to the hospitals in such large numbers that before you realized an attack had occurred everyone in every nearby hospital would also be infected. Then of course the hospital itself would be rendered useless and all those already in the hospital no matter what the reason would literally condemned. The biggest issue with this is that those places we have available to help our populations stay well would be immediately and totally useless. For some background on the World Think T ...

Genetic Clues To Sodalis Deepens Knowledge Of Bacterial Diseases

By sequencing the genome of the symbiotic bacterium Sodalis, which lives off the major disease-transmitting insect, the tsetse fly, researchers at Yale School of Medicine have come a step closer to understanding how microbial pathogens cause disease. Led by Serap Aksoy, professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at Yale School of Medicine, the team was highly interested in Sodalis because of its close relation to human bacterial pathogens like E... click link for more info.

Soy diet worsens heart disease in mice, says University of Colorado at Boulder study

.A University of Colorado at Boulder study has shown the health of mice carrying a genetic mutation for a disease that is the leading cause of sudden cardiac death in people under 30 worsened considerably when the animals were fed a soy-based diet.

FR Debate: Intelligent Design vs. Birth Defects, Can They Be Reconciled?

Each year in the United States, about 150,000 babies are born with birth defects ranging from mild to life threatening. While progress has been made in the detection and treatment of birth defects, they remain the leading cause of death in the first year of life. Birth defects are often the result of genetic and environmental factors, but the causes of well over half of all birth defects are currently unknown. Following is a partial list of birth defects: Achondroplasia/Dwarfism Hemochromatosis Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency Huntington's Disease Anencephaly Hydrocephalus Arnold-Chiari Malformation Klinefelter's Syndrome Ataxia Telangiectasia Leukodystrophies Blood coagulation disorders/Hemophilia Marfan Syndrome...

Researchers At Mayo Discover Cause Of Defective DNA Repair

Mayo Clinic researchers have discovered the inner workings of a defective DNA repair process and are first to explain why certain mutations are not corrected in cells. The finding is important because genetic instability and accumulations of mutations lead to disease. This discovery may lead to ways of fixing the process to avoid Huntington's disease and some types of colon cancer. The Mayo team discovered that under certain conditions, a key protein fails to recognize a specific form of DNA that it needs to begin the repair process by recruiting additional proteins. They report their findings in a recent issue of Nature Structural and Molecular Biology. By failing to initiate repair, the defective mechanism may give rise to disabl...

  • Movie Review - Cellular
Cellular - 2005 New Line Productions Inc.

I had a chance to watch Cellular the other day and my first thought was that here we go with another spin-off of Phone Booth, another movie with someone forced to stay on the phone for 90 some minutes while we cringe in our seat. But, to my surprise , this was actually a very enjoyable movie. I’m am not really sure what genre to classify this movie in because it has it all. Suspense, drama, action, comic relief; this movie has everything.
The movie begins with the kidnapping of Jessica Martin, played by Kim Bassinger.
