Bio-Rhythm Disruption Frequency Identifier for Human Intentions
It appears we have found many identifiers for Bio-Metrics to identify people. In this new age of International Terrorism with bad guys trying to get Pilot’s Licenses, HazMat Driver’s Licenses, get onto airlines, step onto buses and sneak over our borders we need a fool proof system. Currently we use fingerprints to identify criminals and those who hold important positions. Some of the newest forms of security include retina scans, voice prints, palms, DNA, Implanted RFID Chips, etc. We have devices, which can see thru trucks, pick up the scent of bio-weapons that use heat to pick-up illegal ...

Carb Crazed
Low Carb diets have become as popular as apple pie (although apple pie wouldn’t be allowed!). Everywhere you go the message is “low carb, decrease your carbs, or no carbs”. Unfortunately this message oversimplifies many of the healthy eating habits that nutrition experts have been teaching. The truth is, there are no quick fixes or easy answers when it comes to healthy eating, and one size never fits all. The idea that carbohydrates are bad or unhealthy is a misunderstood message that has taken over our thoughts on good nutrition. Low carbohydrate promoters push the theory that carboh ...

Social Network Helps Newspaper Fake Man On The Street Reports
It looks like one newspaper has come up with a new use for all those social network systems out there: using them to find photos of people for fake "man in the street" interviews. TheOnion, of course, has faked these kinds of interviews for years. However, as News.com points out, some reporters for a newspaper in North Carolina appeared to have combed through their acquaintances on TheFacebook.com and, rather than actually interviewing them, made up quotes to put in the newspaper along with their photos. It's really just another case of journalistic laziness and faking quotes -- but with a nice social networking angle.

Article About Xtek, Inc. In Today's Newspaper
The Cincinnati Enquirer featured an article about Xtek, Inc., the company where I work, in today's paper. You can read the online version here. Pretty cool too see the company get some press. Xtek is a great place to work—being large enough to present lots of interesting problems for engineers to work on and small enough that you get to work on lots of different things. I started with Xtek, Inc. as a Gear Engineer one year out of graduate school. Since then I've worked in nearly every aspect of engineering. Three years or so ago I made a career change and now work in the company's MIS department as a System Analyst. Currently, I do the design and programming for our web-based software and new custom engineering software.
