You Are What You Eat - Genetically Modified Food
Whenever we sit down to eat, we assume that the foods we consume are good for us, like milk, vegetables, fruits, and grains. Well, think again. In the last decade the foods we know (corn, tomato, potato, soybean, strawberries) have drastically changed due to the introduction of genetically modified (another word is genetically engineered) organisms in 1994. Over 60% of the items on your local grocery store shelves these days are genetically modified, and these items are not labeled as such. On the surface, these genetically modified foods look and taste similar to what we ate before 1994, b ...

Life in Cyberspace
Two disparaging claims often made about the online world are that it is inhibited with nerds who don't have a life and that 30 years old woman you met and liked is actually a 13 year old boy. Both have a basis in fact. Some pioneering message-board addicts were in reality socially challenged hackers, and lot of 13 year old boys probably don't have the confidence to confess up to their true civil state online.
But the time for convenient generalizations about the population of the online world is past. It's in its Devonian era now, swarming with rapidly evolving forms that may or may not ...

Promethean Hispanic Fire
In the Greek tale of creation, a Titan (Greek god) by the name of Epimetheus is given the task of creating living creatures. He screws the job up by giving all the good DNA and survival mechanisms to the animals. When it came time to creating man he had nothing left but soft skin and weak limbs. Desperate, he calls upon his brother Prometheus (which means forethought) to help him out. Prometheus decides to give humans the ability to walk upright and be able to see far away into the distance (like gods). Prometheus then flies to heaven, steals fire from the sun and gives it to mankind. ...

More Animal Rights Reactions to Dog Cloning
Neal Barnard says dog cloning is pointless -- just look at Vioxx!
It Doesn't Work Perfectly Yet, So Lets Ban Cloning
Dolly, the cloned sheep, has arthritis, so obviously all animal cloning research should be banned.
Cloning In The Animal Kingdom
The New Scientist is carrying an interesting article on cloning in nature. From the article: The ant Wasmannia Auropunctata, which is native to Central and South America but has spread into the US and beyond, has opted for a unique stand-off in the battle of the sexes. Both queens and males reproduce by making genetically identical copies of themselves - so males and females seem to have entirely separate gene pools.

The News at Meucci Appaloosa Horse Ranch
We’re back from the 2005 nationals, held in Oklahoma City. We were competing, as usual, in only Open Halter Events. Our entries on July 7th and 8th were weanling colts, weanling fillies, yearling mares, and two-year-old mares. We were victorious garnering four top tens in large classes. These classes represented the culmination of the best breeding programs built on the best efforts of horsemen and women since this breed’s conception. These horses proudly carry the genetics and baton of inspiration for the future as a breed.
Not everyone rehearses their losses. Embarrassingly, it was no ...

Youth In A Changing World
Introduction Children are the gifts of God to parents. That young child will in no time at all grow up to become a resposible future leader if he is well catered for. Therefore whatever they learn or grow up with is what they will act upon in their future. Juvenile Deliquency is nothing but indiscipline among youth. An untrained child of today will destroy the future of himself and that of others. Remember Crowley in New york, the USA, Aninih and Shina Rambo, notorious armed robbers in Nigeria, they are today the world enemies. What shall we say of you and your children in futur ...
